Winter Fair and Christmas Production preparations...

In preparation for our winter fair and our Christmas Production our art lessons for the next two weeks are going to be linked to these events.

Years 5 & 6 are in the process of designing wrapping paper, which will be used to wrap boxes that will be displayed around the school...

    

Years 3 & 4 are in the process of designing and making Christmas themed bunting, which will be hung around the school...

Year 5 at Tate Britain

A couple of weeks ago Year 5 went to Tate Britain. We met with an artist and looked at and discussed several works of art. The main objective of the choice of art works and the focus of the discussion was the use of colour in the art. We looked at paintings and sculptures. Here are some of the photographs that we took, there are more in the photo album called 'Tate Britain - Year 5'.

Animal Man

Last Tuesday, the Animal Man came to visit Year 3. He brought with him a selection of amazing animals for us to see, hold and touch. We of course took photographs, which we thought would be nice to share with everybody here on the blog, but how could we link it with art?

We had a discusion in 3R about how we could link it and Arthur came up with a great idea to draw a picture of our favourite animal from those that we saw on Tuesday, which we could then add to the blog, alongside the photographs - idea SOLD!

   

   

   

   

   

I have uploaded the photographs, which you will find on the right hand side of the page - they are in a photo album called 'Animal Man - 3R'.

The guidelines...

• Draw a picture of one of the animals that we saw on Tuesday;
• Your drawing needs to be no larger than A4;
• You can use any media that you like - pencil, pen, crayon, pastel, chalk, paint, collage...

As soon as you complete your drawing place it in the tray labelled 'Art Blog', in the classroom. Don't forget to write your name and what animal it is, on your paper please.
